7-hydroxymitragynine restrictions in Colorado

Senate Bill 25-72, which was signed into law on May 30th 2025, restricts 7-OH content to 2% of the total alkaloid content.

On May 30th 2025, Gov. Jared Polis signed Senate Bill 25-72 into law. This law puts in certain needed restrictions on Kratom but also imposes a cap on 7-OH products that are able to be purchased.  The cap only allows 7-OH products to be sold if they contain less than 2% of the total alkaloid content.

This cap of 2% basically means that only kratom powder or capsules can be sold, they cannot be enhanced to increase there potency.

Here are some of the prohibitions set forth by the new bill:

  • Knowingly preparing, distributing, advertising, selling, or offering to sell a kratom product under certain circumstances.
  • Preparing, distributing, advertising, selling, or offering to sell a kratom product that does not clearly and conspicuously set forth certain information on the kratom product's label.
  • Displaying or storing kratom products in a retail location in a manner that will allow the products to be accessed by individuals under 21 years of age.
  • Manufacturing, packaging, labeling, or distributing a kratom product that contains synthesized or semi-synthesized kratom alkaloids or has a level of 7-hydroxymitragynine in the alkaloid fraction that is greater than 2% of the alkaloid composition of the product.

Due to these restrictions, Kratompoint will not be able to ship 7-OH products into the state of Colorado. You can still purchase kratom capsules, powders and shots that meet the required regulations set forth by the state of Colorado.
